Tim Hattendorf

Tim Hattendorf QPA

Retirement Plan Advisor

Tim Hattendorf spent twenty-five years on the administration side of retirement plans before making a deliberate shift - and that background is exactly what makes him so effective in the role he holds today.

Throughout his career, Tim worked his way through progressively more complex positions in retirement plan administration, developing deep knowledge of daily recordkeeping, plan document and amendment preparation, compliance testing, and government filings. He learned the mechanics of qualified retirement plans from the inside out - how they are built, how they are tested, how they stay compliant, and where things can go wrong. When he transitioned his focus to retirement plan investments and advisory work, he brought all of that institutional knowledge with him.

At Nadler Financial Group, Tim works directly with plan sponsors to monitor retirement plan investments, evaluate fund lineups, and recommend changes when the data warrants it. He educates plan participants about their retirement plans and investment options, researches and answers questions from both sponsors and participants, coordinates with the plan’s various service providers, and monitors plans and participant accounts to ensure ongoing compliance with retirement plan regulations. It is work that requires both technical precision and genuine patience with people - and Tim brings both.

What Tim values most about his current role is the direct human connection it allows. After decades of behind-the-scenes administration work, he now interacts regularly with a wide range of people in different retirement plan roles - and the sincere appreciation he receives from those he has helped, he says, makes the work a joy.

Tim holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance from DePaul University and an undergraduate business degree from Arizona State University. He has earned the Qualified Plan Administrator (QPA) designation from the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries, a nationally recognized organization for career retirement plan professionals.

Outside of work, Tim enjoys riding his motorcycle, tackling home and yard improvement projects, and spending time with his wife and daughter. He also takes their family dog on regular neighborhood walks and trips to the dog park.
